Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra

Graduated as an architect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Sevilla (ETSA) in 1972.
Professor of Projects at this University until 1987, he is currently an Honorary Professor and director of the international architecture workshop Cátedra Blanca. He has been Visiting Professor at the Universities of Buenos Aires, Lausanne, Navarra, Syracuse New York, Bologna, Venice, and Mendrisio and Visiting Scholar at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. During all these years he has combined his work as a teacher and the professional field.

He has participated in many exhibitions, including the Biennale di Venezia 1980 and 2004, the Triennale di Milano 1988, Centre Georges Pompidou Paris 1990, The Art Institute of Chicago 1992 and The Museum of Modern Art New York 2006.

Among his main projects are the social housing buildings in Seville, Rota and Madrid, the Expo’92 Seville Navigation Pavilion, the Vigo Maritime Border Development, the Museum of Enlightenment in Valencia, the Museum of the Sea in Genoa, the Tomares City Hall, the National Museum of Underwater Archaeology in Cartagena, the recovery of the San Telmo Palace, the Seville Conference Center and the Caixaforum Seville Cultural Center.
